Most men don't think about their wallet until it falls apart. Then they grab whatever's cheapest at the checkout line — stamped "genuine leather," stitched with thread that frays in six months, with card slots that stretch out after three weeks. Six months later, same problem, same solution, same result.
A BSL bifold wallet is built to end that cycle. Every bifold we make starts with full-grain American leather — the top layer of the hide, the densest and most durable part — not split leather, not bonded scraps, not "genuine leather" (industry code for the cheapest grade that still qualifies for the label). Full-grain leather doesn't just last longer. It gets better. It develops a patina over years of carry that's unique to you: the exact shape of your pocket, the wear patterns from how you grip it, the color shift from your hands.
We make every wallet by hand in Mansfield, Texas. That means you're not getting a wallet that rolled off a factory line alongside 50,000 identical copies. You're getting one that was cut, stitched, burnished and inspected by someone who cares whether the corners are clean. Every edge is hand-burnished. Every stitch is set under tension. The thread we use is waxed nylon — it doesn't rot, doesn't fray, and won't unravel if one section breaks.
Our bifolds come in two orientations. Horizontal bifolds fold side to side and ride in a back pocket: the Rio Grande, our flagship at six card positions; the Big Bend for maximum capacity at eight; the Western Bifold with a hand-applied leather medallion; and the Glory Snap if you want a closure that stays put when you're active. Vertical bifolds fold top to bottom and are built for a front pocket — The Tyler and the Western Vertical, four positions each and flatter in the pocket. All full-grain. All made in Texas.
Looking for something slimmer? See our minimalist leather wallets for front-pocket carry, or browse all men's leather wallets. Carrying a lot of cards? Try our trifold wallets. Prefer a western style? Check the western wallets. Curious why the leather grade matters? Read our full-grain vs. top-grain breakdown.
Free shipping on every order, no minimum. Every wallet is backed by our No Bull Guarantee — if it ever fails, we fix it or replace it. No hoops. No BULL. And the 60-Day Bull Ride: carry it for 60 days, and if you don't love it, send it back free. Want it personalized? Custom Monogramming available — add initials, a name, or a short phrase at checkout, $10.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many cards does a leather bifold wallet hold?
Between four and eight card positions depending on the model. The vertical bifolds carry four; the Rio Grande, Western Bifold and Glory Snap carry six; the Big Bend carries eight. Every count includes the bilateral hidden vertical pockets, and each position takes one to two cards comfortably.
What's the difference between a horizontal and a vertical bifold?
Both are bifolds — both fold once. A horizontal bifold folds side to side and rides in a back pocket. A vertical bifold folds top to bottom, which makes it narrower and flatter, and it's built for a front pocket. Same leather, same construction, same guarantee. It's an orientation, not a different category.
What's the difference between a bifold and a trifold wallet?
A bifold folds once and stays slimmer in the pocket, with card slots on each inner panel. A trifold folds twice for more card slots in a shorter footprint. If you want the classic slim profile, the bifold is the move; if you carry a lot of cards, see our trifold wallets.
Is full-grain leather worth it for a bifold?
Yes. Full-grain keeps the entire hide intact, including the tight outer grain that gives it durability and lets it age. It's the difference between a wallet that lasts a decade and one that peels in two years. Here's the full breakdown.
Can I add RFID protection?
Yes. Our RFID Blocking Cards slip into any card slot and shield your cards right where it counts — $10 for two. Because they're cards and not a sewn-in lining, they move with you when you switch wallets.
Can I personalize a bifold wallet?
Yes — Custom Monogramming is available on our bifold styles. Add initials, a name, or a short phrase at checkout, $10. Personalized orders are final sale.
