About Leather Knife Sheaths

Bull Sheath leather knife sheaths are cut and stitched from full-grain American leather in Mansfield, Texas, sized to hold fixed-blade and folding knives snug and secure. Built thick to protect the edge and your belt, they break in with use and last for years. Backed for life. Free shipping on every order.

A good knife deserves a good sheath. Our custom leather knife sheaths are handcrafted from full-grain leather in Texas and built to protect your blade while looking sharp on your belt. Each sheath is form-fit with a stitched welt, so it holds the knife by retention rather than by a snap, through daily use, hunting trips and outdoor work.

Available in Saddle Tan, Walnut Brown, Chestnut Brown and Black. The standard sheath fits a 4.125" trapper knife or smaller, and the belt loop takes a belt up to 2" wide. The leather is thick enough to protect against accidental cuts and durable enough to handle years of belt carry. Over time it molds to your specific blade for an even more secure fit.

Custom engraving is available for names, initials or a short message — making these a good gift for the outdoorsman in your life. Browse our other leather accessories or pair with a handmade wallet for the complete Bull Sheath carry. Need one fitted to an unusual blade? Send us three measurements — blade length tip to guard, the widest point of the blade, and the thickness at the spine — and we'll build to it. Start with our custom leather knife sheath. Free U.S. shipping on every order, no minimum.

Frequently Asked Questions — Leather Knife Sheaths

A leather knife sheath is a fitted cover for a fixed-blade knife, designed to protect the blade and allow safe carry on a belt or pack. Quality leather sheaths are form-fitted to the blade, hold the knife securely via retention, and protect the edge better than synthetic sheaths.

Measure the blade length from tip to guard (not including the handle), and the widest point of the blade. Also note the blade thickness at the spine. These three measurements determine sheath fit. Contact us if you need a custom fit for an unusual blade.

Kydex is waterproof and holds its shape in any conditions — good for hunting in rain or heavy outdoor use. Leather is more comfortable against the body, quieter when drawing, develops a patina, and is preferred for EDC and dress carry. Both are functional — it comes down to use case and preference.

Yes. We make custom leather sheaths fitted to specific knives. Contact us with your blade measurements or send us the knife — we'll build a sheath that fits it exactly. Custom sheaths are hand-sewn in our Texas shop from full-grain leather.

Condition a leather sheath every 6–12 months with a beeswax-based conditioner or neatsfoot oil. Keep it dry and store it with the knife out when not in use (to prevent moisture buildup). If it gets wet, let it air dry slowly — never use a heat source.
