COVID and Shipping Changes
Many times the custom wallets you order from us at Bull Sheath Leather are a special gift and you count on us to assure their timely delivery. The heartbeat of our business is to make customers happy by making the best leather wallets for whatever the occasion: birthday gift, custom anniversary engraving, graduation gift, or personalized custom wallet.
As the Covid crisis unfolds, we learn further ways that it is impacting the basic “norms” in our lives, from wearing masks, to impacting schools, this unwelcome virus has affected us all; some in big ways, some in minor inconveniences.
Here at Bull Sheath Leather, we wanted to let you know, first of all, that we are all healthy and continue to take steps to mitigate the dangers this virus can hold for ourselves and our families. We also want you to be assured that the personalized leather wallets we mail out to you are as danger-free-as-possible from this invisible threat.
One area that Covid has affected our business is the impact on shipping times. We are still able to produce your custom, handmade leather wallet within 2-3 business days (usually faster!), and we always personally drive them over to the post office on the same day they are made. However, we have recently been made aware that USPS shipping times have greatly increased as a direct result of the dreaded coronavirus. (Due to sick USPS workers, their increased processes to limit illness spread, and other factors).
We have recently had some packages that were USPS First Class (“normally” delivered in 2-3 days) take up to 15 days to arrive. This has been very frustrating for both our customers and ourselves, because after we drop the package off at the post office, we have ZERO control as to what happens from there. (I have also experienced this personally as a purchaser of other items from other websites . . . It is a nationwide, system wide problem).

Postal Package Deliveries ‘Bogged Down’ With Delays, Backlogs
As a result, we have recently made the decision to ship primarily with UPS (United Parcel Service - The Brown Truck people). They are still delivering within 2 business days, as best as we can tell. The downside is that they ARE more expensive than USPS First Class shipping, but we know how hard it can be to wait for your handmade custom leather wallet! We are still offering the option to use USPS, but we are only offering Priority shipping with USPS (typically 2 day delivery) at this time to help avoid your frustration of a temporarily "lost" package.
