A leather knife sheath is a fitted cover for a fixed-blade knife, designed to protect the blade and allow safe carry on a belt or pack. Quality leather sheaths are form-fitted to the blade, hold the knife securely via retention, and protect the edge better than synthetic sheaths.

Measure the blade length from tip to guard (not including the handle), and the widest point of the blade. Also note the blade thickness at the spine. These three measurements determine sheath fit. Contact us if you need a custom fit for an unusual blade.

Kydex is waterproof and holds its shape in any conditions — good for hunting in rain or heavy outdoor use. Leather is more comfortable against the body, quieter when drawing, develops a patina, and is preferred for EDC and dress carry. Both are functional — it comes down to use case and preference.

Condition a leather sheath every 6–12 months with a beeswax-based conditioner or neatsfoot oil. Keep it dry and store it with the knife out when not in use (to prevent moisture buildup). If it gets wet, let it air dry slowly — never use a heat source.
