What an RFID-blocking card can do
An RFID-blocking card uses shielding material to interfere with communication between a compatible contactless card and a nearby reader. When the card is fully covered and positioned correctly, it can prevent that communication.
Effectiveness depends on the card, the reader, and how the cards are arranged in the wallet. It is not accurate to promise universal protection from every reader or every placement.
What it cannot do
An RFID blocker cannot prevent phishing, a stolen card, a breached website, account takeover, a compromised payment terminal, or every other kind of fraud. Keep card alerts and normal account-security habits in place.

Modern contactless payments use short-range NFC. Visa states that each transaction uses a one-time, transaction-specific code, which makes skimmed information difficult to use for fraudulent purchases.
